ABOUT US

WELCOME TO MASJID 1001

This is an idea borne out of the need to bring value to hearts, minds and souls.  The idea was conceived to make the spiritual well-being of Muslims become better endeared to going to the mosque to pray. We know so many Muslims who will either combine their prayers intentionally or leave their prayers unsaid just because the mosque around them either does not have potable water, good structures, clean rest rooms or lack of one amenity that a mosque should have or the other. It occurred to us that if we did not do something to change the narrative, we may lose souls to derail and we did not want that to happen, hence, the creation of this NGO – MASJID 1001. The initiative was set up with the intention to renovate dilapidated mosques across Nigeria to begin with and then with time, we may set out initiatives to completely build mosques in areas where it is needed.

OUR STRATEGY

Our strategy is to raise a community of people who can commit to donating funds that will be pooled together from time to time to renovate a chosen mosque that is in need of a revamp. The choice of which mosque is to be renovated is decided by a committee set up for that purpose, although everyone can suggest for us mosques around Nigeria that they feel needs a revamp.
We believe that everyone in life was created for a purpose, even though a lot of people die without achieving that purpose; hence, this is our own purpose.
